ABOUT ME
ABOUT MY WORK
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Oregon, I hold a B.A. in composition/theory piano performance, summa cum laude, from Linfield College, an M.M. in composition from the Mannes College of Music (NYC) and a D.M.A. in composition and M.M. in music theory at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where I studied under Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Kevin Puts. I currently serve as the Brevard Institute's Composition Fellow.

Described as “beautiful, lyrical” and filled with “unexpected harmonic shifts” (International Trumpet Guild), my music centers on the core elements of musical narrative: Emotion, drama, and beauty. As a 2018 American Prize Finalist, my compositions have been performed throughout the world, at Carnegie Hall, Columbia University, Bulgaria’s National Palace of Culture, Norway’s Arctic Cathedral, International Trumpet Guild National Conference, and at schools of music and conservatories throughout the country.
